Reedy Power has announced the launch of the new Sonic 900 'Driver Edition' brushless competition motors for 1:8 scale RC models. Developed in close collaboration with the Reedy Power racing team, these motors represent a powerful evolution of the already proven Sonic platform.

Unprecedented Performance and Control At the heart of the new Sonic 900 DE is an innovative rotor concept designed to ensure smoother and more linear power delivery, increased top speed, and improved reliability. They are currently available in two variants, 1900kV and 2100kV. A significant advantage for drivers is the ability to interchange rotors, which are also sold separately in Standard and Torque versions, allowing for perfect power delivery adaptation to track conditions and personal driving style.

Engineering and Reliability To withstand the stresses of competition, the motors feature a CNC-machined housing with an integrated heat sink. This technical solution drastically lowers operating temperatures, reducing performance drop during races and extending the motor's lifespan.

Other notable technical features include: A 4-pole balanced rotor with neodymium magnets for consistent thrust lap after lap. Heavy-duty solder tabs designed with a surface capable of accommodating wires up to 10-gauge. Adjustable timing for ultra-precise tuning. Sensor-supported operation backed by precision ball bearings.

Expert Opinion As explained by Reedy Power Manager Rick Hohwart, the Sonic 900 DE motors provide predictable power, essential for confidently tackling jumps and rough sections, relieving drivers of any reliability concerns in the heat of competition.

Built to meet ROAR specifications, the Sonic 900 'Driver Edition' motors and rotors are now available for purchase.
